Vice Principal
Ms. Sujatha Balasubramanian is a seasoned education leader with over 34 years of experience in teaching and school leadership across India, Qatar, and the UAE. She joined GEMS Education in 2008 and has since taken on progressive leadership roles, currently serving as Vice Principal at GEMS Millennium School, Sharjah.
A passionate educator and lifelong learner, Ms. Balasubramanian began her career teaching English and Social Studies and has consistently demonstrated her ability to motivate and guide students while fostering strong relationships with parents and colleagues. Her expertise lies in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and creating enriching learning experiences.
Throughout her journey as a teacher and school leader, she has remained deeply committed to academic excellence, student achievement, and continuous school improvement. She has played a pivotal role in enhancing learning outcomes, ensuring students are well-prepared for benchmark and standardized assessments, and fostering a culture of high expectations and success.
She holds a degree in Economics, a postgraduate degree in English, and a B.Ed. in English and Social Studies. Currently, she is pursuing the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and a Doctorate of Education, focusing on research in digital distraction and its impact on student learning.
Ms. Balasubramanian has also contributed to curriculum development as a content developer for Macmillan and continues to advocate for innovative teaching strategies that prepare students for the demands of the 21st century, showcasing her versatility in multidisciplinary roles. Her vision is to nurture students with a growth mindset and cultivate classrooms dedicated to the joy of learning.
